Actavo, an international engineering solutions company headquartered in Dublin, has signed a five-year contract with major energy supplier, SSE, to support the national expansion of SSE’s ‘Shield’ programme in the UK.

The contract, which has recently gone live, sees Actavo providing a range of services to SSE’s existing and future customer base across England, Scotland and Wales between now and 2022. Among the services delivered by Actavo as part of the contract are electrical inspection and servicing, boiler inspection and 24/7 service and breakdown cover. Fifteen new in-field gas engineer jobs have been created by Actavo as a result of the SSE partnership.

Welcoming the news, CEO of Actavo, Network & In-Home Division, TJ Malone, said: “We are really pleased to be working with SSE for the next five years and we look forward to playing a critical role in the delivery and expansion of the SSE Shield programme across a wide geographical area”.

David Walter, SSE’s Director of Home Services and Propositions, said: “As the supplier of an essential service, SSE is committed to making sure customers can use energy safely and reliably. The expansion of our home services business, with the help of Actavo, will give customers access to deals that provide great value for money and the peace of mind that should something go wrong, we’ll be on hand to help. We are delighted to be working with Actavo and look forward to a fruitful and productive relationship for years to come.”
