downloadAldi has launched a new nationwide recruitment drive calling for “motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking” people to apply for the 84 new jobs that the German retailer will be creating in the Dublin, Louth and Meath regions.

The positions span a range of divisions including store managers, assistant store managers, store assistants and stock assistants.

Aldi’s Personnel Development Director Brian O’Shea called on people to “join the Aldi team and contribute to our continued success in Ireland.”

“We need great people to join our business to help us in continuing to deliver the highest level of customer service that our customers have come to expect,” he said.

The supermarket introduced the ‘Living Wage’ on 1 February this year for all entry level positions, with store assistant employees able to earn up to €13.80 per hour.

Mr O’Shea added: “Our average hourly rates are some 30% above typical pay in the retail industry.”

Successful store manager candidates will avail of a starting annual salary of €55,000, rising to €80,000 over four years for a five day, 45-hour week.

There are currently 126 Aldi stores in Ireland employing over 3,000 people.
