Cork IT recycling firm wins important award

WisetekCEOSeanSheehanA Cork IT recycling firm has won a Deloitte Best Managed Companies Award.

Wisetek, who provide secure data-elimination and responsible IT recycling services to the world’s leading IT corporations, won the award for the first time last Friday.

The company received the Gold Standard Award at a gala dinner at Dublin’s Convention Centre.

Headquartered in Little Island, Cork, Wisetek has grown significantly over the past eight years and is providing its services from its bases in Cork, Thailand and the US.

Wisetek recover components from IT manufacturers’ and Data Centre service providers for a combination of reuse, remarketing or recycling, while complying with the highest environmental and sustainability standards.

Wisetek CEO, Sean Sheehan, said: “One of the primary objectives of the awards programme is to showcase the success of indigenous companies and acknowledge the contribution that this sector makes to the economy.
