Datapac received the award for its capacity to attract new customers and its high levels of team accreditations, as well as its continued commitment to excellence across the entire Sophos IT security portfolio.

The Irish Partner of the Year was announced at the 2016 Sophos Discover Partner Conference, held in Cannes, France. The conference is designed to celebrate the successes of Sophos partners throughout EMEA and to help them to take advantage of the latest business opportunities within the fast-moving IT security marketplace.

Over the past year, Datapac succeeded in attracting a number of new customers for Sophos solutions, as well as converting existing Datapac customers over to Sophos products for the first time. This has led to Datapac significantly increasing Sophos’ customer base both in the private and public sectors. Datapac remains Sophos’ only Platinum Partner in Ireland.

As cyber-security threats develop and grow ever more sophisticated, public awareness of the importance of IT security continues to rise. In driving the continued adoption of Sophos solutions, Datapac continues to play a part in the ongoing fight against cybercrime. Sophos is a global IT-security leader, providing solutions to more than 100,000 businesses in over 150 countries worldwide.

Speaking about the award, Patrick Kickham, director, Datapac, said: “This award further strengthens the excellent partnership that we have enjoyed with Sophos in the Irish market over the past number of years. What’s more, the award recognises the huge growth that we secured from existing and new customers over the past year. Key to our success is our deep understanding of the threat landscape and the potential risks to Irish organisations. This places us in a unique position to implement the best-fit solutions from the Sophos portfolio to effectively tackle cybercrime. We are delighted to once again receive recognition for the fantastic work done over the last year.”

Dermot Hayden, Sophos country manager, Ireland, added: “We’re delighted to again recognise Datapac for its exceptional commitment to selling Sophos solutions in Ireland, and to award the team Sophos Irish Partner of the Year 2016. Winning this award four years in a row really highlights Datapac’s commitment to Sophos’ business and the company’s desire to bring the very best solutions the IT Security industry has to offer to Irish businesses. This partnership means that Irish organisations looking to secure their data against cyber-security threats will continue to benefit from Sophos’ uniquely integrated, simple to manage solutions and Datapac’s specialist market knowledge, as our partnership develops further in the years to come.”
