Dublin Eye Clinic Offers New Laser Eye Surgery Procedure

This procedure is called SMILE, and it is the 3rd generation in laser eye surgery, following PRK, LASIK, and LASEK surgeries.

SMILE offers similar benefits as LASIK eye surgery, such as speedy recovery. One of the major differences is that doctors who perform SMILE do not make a flap in the cornea. This will allow more patients to enjoy the benefits of laser eye surgery.

This procedure will benefit those who have more severe short-sightedness and astigmatism because their corneas tend to be too thin for LASIK. Rather than settling for a procedure with a longer recovery time, such as LASEK and PRK, these patients are more likely to qualify for SMILE.

This procedure has been performed on over 150,000 patients around the world, and the demand for more clinics that offer this procedure is rising.
