Fleetmatics Invests in New Office Space in Dublin to Facilitate Continued Growth

Irish company Fleetmatics has announced plans to move its team into a state-of-the-art campus in Sandyford, Co. Dublin. The move facilitates the continued growth at the company which has already hired more than 100 people in the past year. This recent recruitment brings the total workforce in the rapidly growing company to about 250 people.

Fleetmatics was founded in Ireland in 2004 in a small office in Templeogue, Dublin, employing about 10 people in the first year of operation. With consistent investment in R&D and a global mindset, the company has been able to scale-up successfully and now has a global customer base. In 2016, Verizon Communications Inc. acquired Fleetmatics, enabling the company to further grow, scale and bring its fleet and mobile workforce management solutions to more organisations in more countries across the globe.

Fleetmatics has leased 90,000 square feet of space at the Atrium Building in Sandyford. The new facility will be completely re-designed to retain the spirit of the start-up, promoting rapid innovation and Lean Software Engineering. A design for start-up at scale, it will optimize for collaboration and communication in small autonomous cross-functional teams.

The new building will also be home to the start of the art Network Operations Centre (NOC) which was officially opened earlier this year. The NOC monitors billions of system interactions a day, providing valuable insights into customer usage and system performance trends.

Current and future employees are due to move into the new campus by mid-2018.

Peter Mitchell, Chief Technology Officer at Fleetmatics, said: “Fleetmatics was founded in Dublin 13 years ago employing just 10 people. As an Irish company, we’re proud of the growth we’ve achieved in recent years. To have evolved from a start-up based in a small office in Dublin, to being a large telematics player in Europe is something that continues to drive our Irish workforce to innovate and create new solutions for our customers. Since joining forces with Verizon Telematics, we have been able to further accelerate innovation in our sector and I’m looking forward to seeing this continued growth into 2018.”

“Our new campus is located in an exciting digital ecosystem in Sandyford, where it can serve as a hub of innovation, and enable our expanding team to have the collaborative and functional space required to deliver best-in-class workforce solutions to our customers around the world. It’s an exciting time for the entire Irish team and we look forward to the grand opening of our new facility in Sandyford.”
