Kingspan Insulation in North America pulled out all the stops as it marked the commissioning of its new GreenGuard XPS manufacturing line in style with a ribbon cutting ceremony last month. The $25 million expansion at the company’s Winchester plant is part of Kingspan’s growth strategy for the North American market. This facility is in Virginia county and employs many local, skilled residents.

Other plans are emerging too. Kingspan Insulation also announced an investment of $1.1 million into the purchase of an additional 7.3 acres of land adjacent to the current plant’s location. The plant currently produces the GreenGuard XPS insulation panels. The new line will double the plant’s capacity to manufacture this product range.

Speaking at the launch, the newly appointed Managing Director of Kingspan Insulation North America, Ryan Sullivan, stated that due to the support of the state and local governing authorities, this investment creates advancement opportunities for current employees, as well as new jobs within the company. “I would also like to thank our staff for their time, energy and dedication to making the new XPS manufacturing line a reality. You have made a significant contribution to the company and to your community,” Mr Sullivan said.

Ryan Sullivan was recently appointed Managing Director of Kingspan Insulation North America. Carrying with him over a decade of experience and knowledge of building products, he plans to strengthen Kingspan Insulation’s commitment to “providing high performance, energy efficient solutions for tomorrow’s most advanced buildings and homes.” Mr Sullivan also aims to expand the business even further through the production of new, high quality products.
Kingspan Insulation’s GreenGuard XPS panels are high-performance insulation panels which improve the warmth and energy efficiency of buildings. These panels are water resistant and therefore are not subject to moisture-related damage or deterioration.

GreenGuard XPS panels have been used in the construction of many notable projects, such as the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Climate control and the minimisation of pollutants were crucial factors in the development of this high-tech laboratory and animal hospital.

By installing GreenGuard XPS panels, developers on the project could create an ideal, controlled environment that was free of pollutants.
