Mobile Technologies to Create 150 Jobs in Drogheda

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mary Mitchell O’Connor announced on Wednesday that Mobile Technologies Inc. (MTI) is to hire 150 people in its newly established European Contact Centre Headquarters in Drogheda over the next three years. Recruitment is already under way for a variety of technology based roles.

Mobile Technologies Inc. CEO Chris Remy said: “We chose Ireland due to its talented technology savvy workforce, attractive business environment, and its membership in the European Union. The IDA was extremely helpful in assisting MTI with this decision.”

The specialists in mobile device display technologies was founded in 1977 and is currently headquartered in Oregon, United States, and operates in over 90 countries worldwide.

Welcoming the announcement, CEO of IDA Ireland Martin Shanahan commented: “The investment by Mobile Technologies Inc. is fantastic news for the local economy of the North East region. These high quality jobs will have a positive knock on effect on the wider region and promote Drogheda as an ideal location for conducting international business. There is an excellent talent pool of skilled workers in the region and I have no doubt the company will thrive in its new headquarters. IDA Ireland continues to be committed to securing high quality FDI for regional locations across the country.”
