Oracle expansion to create 450 Dublin jobs

Oracle-cloud-computing-sotware-comapnySoftware company Oracle has announced 450 jobs for “cloud sales professionals” in Dublin as part of a worldwide recruitment drive for 1,400 new staff.

The company is recruiting sales professionals in the area of cloud computing to drive the expansion of its business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Oracle is one of the world’s best known software companies and it currently has over 420,000 customers in 145 countries. It employs over 130,000 people worldwide, including 1,400 here in Ireland.

In recent times it has made a multi-billion dollar investment in its cloud computing services and it currently supports 600 different applications.

As a result it is recruiting 1,400 sales professionals to sell these services in the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions, including 450 here.

The new Irish jobs will be based at the company’s state-of-the-art offices in Eastpoint Business Park in Dublin.

The company is looking for highly motivated and experienced sales people with a minimum of two to three years experience from across the region.

The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland and has been welcomed by the Taoiseach, Minister for Jobs and IDA chief executive Martin Shanahan.
Mr Shanahan said that Oracle’s presence here for over 30 years forms part of the country’s strong ICT sector.

“This important announcement of 450 new cloud computing roles will greatly enhance Ireland’s reputation as a location of choice for cloud computing. IDA Ireland is focused on identifying opportunities for new and existing clients and developing Ireland’s ability to become a world leader in the cloud,” he added.
