Chopped announces 20 jobs at its newest store in Tallaght

download (1)Chopped’s has announced that it will be creating 20 jobs at its newest franchise at The Square in Tallaght.

The outlet, follows other newly opened restaurants from the franchise in Westmoreland Street, Blanchardstown and Rathmines.

Speaking at the opening of Chopped Tallaght, Brian Lee, co-founder and Managing Director of Chopped said: “We’re delighted to be opening our newest Chopped in Tallaght.

“This is the first time we have opened a store in a shopping centre and we are delighted to be in one of the busiest and most famous shopping centres in the country. This new Chopped will serve everyone in Tallaght from shoppers, to staff in the hospital, to students in the neighbouring schools and IT Tallaght.

“A lot of people told us we were mad to be opening in Tallaght, that wasn’t the right market for us. They said that Tallaght weren’t into health eating enough to be looking for what we offered.

“However, we have had a soft opening in recent weeks and our produce has been flying out the door. We are thrilled that the people of Tallaght are proving the doubters wrong.”

John McGill, new franchisee of Chopped Tallaght said: “We’re looking forward to providing a great experience for all our customers in Chopped Tallaght.

“Healthy eating is the way forward and Chopped is leading the revolution. Chopped supplies healthy meal options and we’re looking forward to providing everyone who comes through our doors with the ultimate Chopped experience of high quality, healthy food.”

The healthy food chain, which is on an aggressive expansion plan, aims to have created 320 Irish jobs by the end of 2016.

The franchise was named Ireland’s “Best Emerging Franchise” at the Irish Franchise Awards in April and Brian Lee was also named as a finalist in the “Best Emerging Entrepreneurs” category at the 2016 EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

Chopped was developed to meet the needs of the growing number of Irish consumers who want a great tasting meal that is “healthy, delicious and fresh.”
