Exertis, a leading distributor of technology products for the B2B, mobile and retail markets, has announced that its supply chain business, Exertis Supply Chain Services (SCS), scooped two major accolades at the National Procurement Awards in Dublin. Nominated for four awards in three separate categories, Exertis SCS was awarded the coveted Procurement Excellence Award (Private Sector) for the company’s overall contribution to procurement excellence. In addition, it won the International Procurement Project of the Year for its collaboration with Microsoft and the Exertis Linx team for the design, manufacture and delivery of its high quality, affordable Windows-based tablets.

The National Procurement Awards, judged by an independent panel of experts, recognises excellence in the procurement and supply chain sectors in Ireland.

Neal Johnston, Exertis SCS, Managing Director said: “We are delighted to have won two such prestigious awards in such a competitive field of entrants. It is testimony to the hard work, dedication and commitment of our team, and the close collaboration with our clients and Exertis colleagues in other parts of our organisation. Taking cost and complexity out of the supply chain is crucial for companies in many sectors. Not only do we deliver that for our customers, but we also look for opportunities where we can help bring innovative ideas to fruition through the sourcing of components and partners in the manufacturing process.”

The Private Sector Procurement Excellence Award illustrated the achievements that Exertis SCS has provided as an outsourced partner for a range of clients across a number of industry sectors. The International Procurement Project Award demonstrated how Exertis SCS was instrumental in bringing the first Windows-based tablet to market in record time, establishing a 33 per cent market share for Linx and selling more than 250,000 units in its first year. Linx is now an established brand in both the B2C and B2B markets.

Simon Woodman, Exertis UK Business Development Director, said: “With Exertis SCS, we were able to take advantage of a gap in the market. With their global operations and supply chain expertise, we designed and manufactured an innovative product, in less than four months, which was recognised for its quality and affordability, and has since earned Exertis the Microsoft OEM Partner of the Year award.”

Exertis SCS was also nominated for the International Procurement Project of the Year for its work with Schneider Electric’s UK service supply chain. The company was also shortlisted for the Best Procurement External Collaboration of the Year Award for its collaboration with AMCS on its materials management and fulfilment project.

Working with companies of all sizes and industries including the technology, consumer electronics, industrial, med tech and pharmaceuticals sectors, Exertis SCS has operations across Europe, the US and Asia.
