Packtech 2014 is set to showcase the latest technology to convert any packaging idea into a final product. Taking place on 26 – 27 February at the NEC, the show is offering visitors a packed exhibition hall, a learnShops programme provide by world-class experts, and plenty of show floor ‘theatre’ in the form of The BIG Packaging Debate, one-to-one advice and the Lions’ Lair.

First and foremost visitors head to Packtech for up-to-the-minute warehouse technology, packaging equipment and the latest innovations for the processing and packing line.

For instance, Paramount Packaging Systems theUK andIreland distributor for Fuji Wrapping will be showcasing its flow-wrapping and tray wrapping systems with two innovative options, keep products fresh until the very last bite. An easy resealable system for product freshness, and Freshcare for shelf life extension.   

Also looking to help the food sector is ILPRA Systems UK with its new Foodpack line model FP1485. The very latest in-lane tray sealing machine with innovative features incorporated for the end user, giving advantages both technically and commercially.

Audion Automation will be displaying a range of flexible packaging solutions, such as the Audion Power Sealer Magvac vacuum sealer, Rollbag systems and the 300 MHS Medical Heat Sealer, for sterile and hermetic packaging.

For pioneering hot foil, thermal transfer, laser and inkjet technologies Allen Coding Systems will be showcasing it latest developments. Steve Ryan UK Sales Manager at Allen Coding, a key show supporter, comments said: “Packteck provides the perfect opportunity to showcase our full range of products to existing and new clients at a prime location, we shall also be exhibiting our exciting new range of 53XL Printers”

Those looking to invest in the latest protective packaging applications, will find plenty of solutions at the show; Automated Packaging Systems will be showcasing its AirPouch® systems which either feature air pillows, bubble or tubes providing long-lasting protection of goods in transit, minimising shipping costs and significantly increasing throughput.  For up-to-the-minute shrink wrapping technology Yorkshire Packaging Systems, Penn Packaging and Adpack will all be at the show.

Enercon will be exhibiting a new range of induction cap sealer machines providing state of the art technology to a variety of industries. Exhibiting for a fifth consecutive year, Enercon’s Sales Manager Brian Tyndall states ‘it is the high quality of the show itself, and of the visitors that come to our stand that make us return year after year.  PACKTECH is the perfect platform to promote Enercon and our equipment in theUK, and it allows us to make contact with everyone from key industry decision makers to the initial start-up companies of the future.’

To keep up with latest issues and trends there will be an array of free-to-attend learnShops seminars, with expert and case study speakers spanning the world of print and packaging. Among the speakers will be, Chris Waterhouse from Idipac, who specialises in the integration of manufacturing and supply chain operations with packaging technology. Mike Fairley, an international consultant in the printing, packaging, security and label industries, and Andy Barnetson, Director of Packaging Affairs at the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) Corrugated Sector will also be offering their expertise.  They will also be joined by brands such Marks & Spencers, Iceland, Recoup, and Mintel. 

The BIG Packaging Debate will also be returning to the NEC, where a panel of packaging experts will form a lively Question Time style session. Get one-to-one personalised advice on any aspect of your packaging from expert professionals at the Packaging Consultancy Clinic, or take part in Lions’ Lair where you can grill a few brave exhibitors as they pitch their latest innovations to a panel of experts, hoping to receive a very public thumbs up. Furthermore, on the second day of the show, the BIG Print Debate will bring industry experts together to discuss the crucial issues of print.

The 2014 event will feature seven co-located shows in total: Packaging Innovations, Ecopack, Contract Pack, Packtech, Print Innovations, Labelling Innovations and, new for 2014, Converting Innovations.
